Membership

As a not-for-profit association under French law, Opéra de Baugé is typical in having members who pay an annual subscription, in return for which they may attend and vote at general meetings. Opéra de Baugé presently has over 200 members, most but by no means all of them French. We want to increase the number of members because the subscriptions help us cover our basic administrative costs and, the greater the number of members, the more weight we have in dealing with the various authorities with which we come into contact.

In addition to being able to attend general meetings, members of Opéra de Baugé enjoy priority booking. Booking is open to members from January each year, but non-members may not book seats before 1st April.

The annual subscription is €30 for individuals and couples, The first year's membership runs from the date at which the first subscription is paid until the end of the calendar year, and is renewable each 1st January.

If you wish to become a member please contact us, for instance by filling in the contact form (link to contact form).  You can also enrol on-line (click here).

Why not become a "Friend of Opéra de Baugé"?

Many people have asked how they could become more involved with Opéra de Baugé and help it develop.

The Friends section, called in French "Les Amis de l'Opéra de Baugé" has the aim of enabling those who so wish to develop a closer relationship with the festival and to contribute to its continued development.

Your contribution will make it possible, on the one hand, to improve the quality of performances, for instance by enabling us to devote more time to rehearsals. On the other hand it will help improve the infrastructure and audience facilities and generally enhance the whole experience of a night at the opera.

In return, you will enjoy a selection of privileges. These are:

For £130 per annum ("membre ami") you will receive the newsletters and be eligible for priority booking.

For £250 per annum ("membre donateur") you will receive the newsletters, be eligible for priority booking and be able to attend dress rehearsals.

For £400 or more per annum ("membre bienfaiteur") you will receive the newsletters, be eligible for priority booking, be able to attend dress rehearsals and will able to use a room reserved in the chateau, before the performance and during the interval, where you will have a chance to meet the singers and musicians from the company and enjoy a glass of sparkling wine!

For all of the above "Friends" categories you can enjoy 3 years' membership for an advance payment equivalent to 2 years subscription.

If you would like to become a Friend, please contact John Grimmett by email or write to him at Les Capucins, 49150 Baugé, France.
